ПИСАНКИ - LEARN ABOUT THEM, MAKE THEM...OR BUY THEM!

PYSANKA
Talisman, Decorative Art, Identity Marker

A presentation by Sophia Kachor
Thursday March 15, 2012 at 7:00 pm
184 Alexander Avenue East, Winnipeg

The presentation will explore this narrative by telling the story of the designs and symbols on the pysanka from three prespectives: the original ancient pre-Christian tradition, the impact of Christianity on the tradition, and the contribution of Ukrainian Canadians to the pysanka narrative.

The presentation will be illustrated with images from Oseredok's pysanka collection.

ERIN MOURE

Last Saturday evening, March 3, Oseredok hosted the launch of Erin Moure's new book of poetry The Unmemntioable. Joining her in reading excerpts from their own, or others', writings were Winnipeg writer Maurice Mierau, and Winnipeg filmmaker John Paskievich. Poet and eco-critic Alison Calder moderated the evening's readings and discussion.
